Patricia Harrigan Hardenbergh, MD is the Medical Director of the Shaw Regional Cancer Center in Edwards, Colorado, US. Her career
has taken her from major academic cancer centers in the US including Harvard Medical School Hospitals where she trained and a
faculty position at Duke University to a rural community cancer center in Edwards, CO. In 2010 through the American Society of Clinical
Oncology (ASCO) Foundation Improving Cancer Care grant she developed the educational peer interactive site chartrounds.org, a
website which helps bridge the gap between small radiation oncology rural practices and larger academic practices through teleconferencing. Building on the initial success in the US, chartrounds.org is meeting educational needs in separate global sites
including India, Africa, Latin America, and most recently a site specifically for brachytherapy.
Dr. Hardenbergh has held roles in national radiation oncology societies such as American Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) including Health Science Committee and Guidelines Committees and the International Education Subcommittee. In 2017, in recognition of her leadership and service to ASTRO, she was given the honor of an ASTRO Fellow. She has been an examiner for board certification for the American Board of Radiology for over ten years and subsequently became a trustee for the American Board of Radiology.
